We have had more compliments than we ever expected on our new living room. We knew it looked great, but the affirmations are nice! We are quick to tell them of your involvement and assure them that working with you is not intimidating or expensive. Our main problem was our odd living room set-up, and your space-planning made all the difference. We enjoy our quiet evenings at home and entertaining our friends as well. Your respect for our limits and desires were much appreciated. If you'll remember, we insisted on keeping the rug and working around the tables and lamps Keith's dad made from walnut from the family farm. We lost Keith's dad this summer to cancer, so those items are even more precious than ever. Overall, the best thing you did was listen to BOTH of us, ask questions, didn't impose your own style sensibility but respected and affirmed ours, and gently led us back when we were venturing into scary design options! This year, for the first time, we have had the best time decorating for Christmas with our new furniture and lay-out - didn't have to move any furniture to make way for the tree! Like many young women, I lead a busy life - after work, friends, and family I have precious little time left for everything else (including sleep!). Despite this, I want a home that I am proud of and that is decorated in a way that is current while at the same time classic. My Halcyon moment came when I offered to host a large group of my friends for our monthly book club. I had many of the basics in place but desperately needed finishing touches (pillows, etc) to finish my apartment off. Just days before my book club, and in a panic, I called Halcyon House and told them about my dilemma. They immediately took control, and told me to send pictures of my apartment to her immediately. From the very beginning, her professionalism, knowledge, and confidence was obvious… I knew I had the right person for the job. Right away, they came back to me with an array of pillows and other accessories that perfectly tied my apartment together. Book club went off without a hitch and my apartment looked great! The best part about working with Halcyon House was that they were always available to calm my nerves or discuss a new idea when I had one. This project started out as a dream. It was something that we never thought could be accomplished; however, Halcyon House made the dream come true. Working with your company was a pleasure. Both of you are truly talented professionals. You have a gift for understanding your client's vision and transforming a space to compliment their style and personality. We realize this was not an easy project since our space was so small and we were on a strict budget. Despite our limitations you designed a room with a purpose that could grace the cover of any respected design magazine. We were impressed with how you managed the project as a whole. We were especially satisfied with the way you communicated any issues to the various contractors. The fabrics, finishes, paint colors, and fixtures, you selected are spot on. The layout of the room and use of space is remarkable (we have more storage than we ever could have imagined).
